THREE CULTURES CELEBRATION IN BIELSKO-BIAŁA

This beautiful holiday reminds us of the multicultural and multi-religious history of our city. We are talking about the Three Cultures Festival, which takes place periodically at the Cultural Center. Wiktoria Kubisz. It is a wonderful, tangible lesson in history, openness, tolerance and friendship - as the events of recent days show - still very much needed. The event organizers are: Kubiszówka, the Jewish Community in Bielsko-Biała and the Social and Cultural Society of Jews in Poland.

This year's edition of the Three Cultures Festival is already behind us. It was unique because of its diversity. In Kubiszówka you could see photographs from the Bielsko necropolises, listen to a concert of the klezmer band Jarmuła Band and a Viennese concert, take part in culinary workshops (Jewish cuisine smells of nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, lemon peel, cumin and onion), learn to write your name in Hebrew, dance Jewish dances, and finally tie it all together with a historical tie during the lecture A City at the Crossroads of Cultures and Religions. The meeting participants listened with great attention to Dr. Jacek Proszyk's fascinating story about Catholics, Evangelicals and Jews who coexisted in Bielsko and Biała until World War II.
